For the past 7 months, ISIS has controlled Ramadi. Now, Iraq claims it has recaptured a large portion of this area. This mission, backed by the U.S. military, represents a major victory fir the Iraqi troops. Ramadi is the capital of Anbar providence, so, while they still have a long ways to go before they have complete control, this step forward is a vital one.
