South African Government
South Africa has a three-branch constitutional democratic government. They have the judicial, legislative and executive branches. Their legislative branch is the Parliament, which consists of a National Assembly and a National Council of Provinces, and the Provincial Legislature. The executive is the president and their cabinet. The judicial is a system of courts. They have a federal system of government. There are around 100 political parties in South Africa, the largest of which is the African National Congress. Only 13 of these parties are represented in Parliament. Many of the parties are formed around religious beliefs but are mostly politicly based.
