Last Thursday, 69 prisoners were freed from the Islamic State from a camp in North Iraq. Four of the prisoners were interviewed for the first time earlier this week. They said that they were tortured and one of them was told that he would be killed within the next few hours had they not been freed. The freedom was a fortunate accident; the mission was to free pesh merga fighters. The prisoners described their torture in detail; including stories of smothering.
